Coffee and Code

Alright, so recently I’ve been doing some work with C++ and I quite like it. I mean, once you get passed the fact that it’s much easier to make a mistake in C++ than say, Ruby or Python, but I’m use to the headaches of C programming… I’m TALKING TO YOU MEMORY ALLOCATION!!! But that’s a headache of the past with C++ … kinda… :) Anyhow, I wrote a really terrible Blackjack game earlier this year, and it’s pretty playable given you compile it. I wasn’t exactly using all the advantages of C++ at the time, but it’s a nice toy. Check out the link below.

So, recently I’ve been working on something interesting for managing my TV shows, but that’s all I’m saying now because I’m really not sure the extent of it at this point. I’m not the most dedicated developer out there, I mean there are kids who are 13, skipping school, and pounding out code like it’s a boxing competition. Me, I make sure I properly place my spaces and optimize things where possible, every few lines I take another sip of coffee, and smile at the small accomplishments I’ve made.

If C++ interests you, just stay tuned to this “Tumblr” thingy, and well, I’ll be posting some more C++ programs soon, and they’ll be easier to understand than the Blackjack game, so you can pick them apart, commit changes, yell at me, use it as homework, or sell it on the black market while I sit here next to a dumpster writing tumblr posts and C++ programs in the rain on my iPod touch.
